C’est 15 jours après l’embuscade tendue contre les Famas, dans les environs de Tessit notamment à Archam, que le Groupe Etat Islamique au Grand Sahara (EIGS) a fait une déclaration pour s’attribuer les faits . Les Famas reconnaissent la mort de 08 des leurs mais ajoutent que «Les troupes aériennes Fama ont traité et neutralisé des colonnes de motocyclistes qui tentaient de submerger l’unité .Le ratissage a permis de dénombrer 57 terroristes neutralisés et divers matériels détruits» .
En plus de la guerre des armes, les Famas et les groupes terroristes mènent également une guerre de communication.
